Why photovoltaics
Photovoltaics is a technology that converts light energy generated by the sun
directly into electricity using photovoltaic cells placed on solar panels. This
energy can be used to power homes, businesses, schools, and other consumption
points. The equipment that makes this happen is a photovoltaic power plant
- Producing clean energy. It helps reduce greenhouse gas
emissions and dependence on fossil fuels.
- Protecting the environment. Produces no emissions during
operation, which contributes to environmental protection.
- Energy independence. Helps reduce dependence on energy
imports and strengthens the country's energy independence.
- Cost saving. Helps reduce electricity costs for households,
businesses and other organisations.
- Diversification of energy sources. Contributes to the
diversification of energy sources and reduces the risk of dependence on a single
energy source.
What we offer:
- Construction of photovoltaic power plants for single-family homes and
businesses. For companies we also implement power plants with a capacity
higher than 10.8 kW in the category of local source of
electricity.
- We offer photovoltaic systems using virtual, chemical battery or a
combination of both solutions.
- Off-grid and On-grid solutions. Further explanation in the section basic
information about photovoltaics.
- We provide turnkey construction so that you have no worries and no
additional costs.
- Implementations include everything from surveying, servicing, to the
complete handling of the administrative tasks associated with the
construction.
- In the interest of your safety, if necessary, we will design and implement
the reconstruction of electrical wiring and lightning distribution system
- We provide installations of wallboxes (EV chargers) for electric
vehicles.
- If required, we will design and implement a solution for the use of solar
surpluses that naturally arise in the summer season. For example, in the form of
switching heating.
Why photovoltaics from RMC s.r.o.:
- We are a qualified company operating on the Slovak and foreign market in the
field of research, production and manufacture of electronics since 1994.
- We have been operating in the field of photovoltaics on the Slovak market
for 15 years.
- Our company has its own team of qualified workers with the necessary
knowledge, education and experience in the field of photovoltaic equipment
installation.
RMC employs an experienced team of technical support staff with knowledge in
the field of in-house development of electrotechnical equipment that can solve
even complicated installations.
- We hold a certificate for installers of photovoltaic and solar thermal
systems issued by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic.
- In addition to the development and production of electronics, our company
has long been involved in photovoltaics and has carried out numerous
installations on various types of buildings and houses from 1.5 kW to
100 kW.
- We also have our own power plants, which allows us to accurately track the
performance from period to period and assess the suitability of the technical
parameters – while keeping up-to-date with the latest information in this
field. In Nová Dubnica we operate 3 independent power plants on our premises,
ranging from 5 kW to 15 kW, and in Trenčín we have long owned a 100 kW
power plant, so a personal tour is possible if you are interested.
- Our power plants meet all electrical standards, fire safety requirements,
protection of the power grid against overvoltage, protection of objects and most
importantly the requirements for the safety of you and your loved ones.
- We work with panels and inverters from reputable manufacturers and use only
original tools and components.
What is the implementation procedure:
- When you contact us by e-mail or phone, you will be contacted by our
employee with whom you will arrange a personal meeting.
- After mutual agreement, our employee will come to make a preliminary
inspection of the installation site. Several factors are decisive in determining
the price, so we do not determine the final price from the table.
A site inspection of the PV installation site is always
necessary!
- We will develop a proposal for an optimal solution taking into account the
individual customer's needs, which you will receive free of charge with a
quotation
- The annual consumption, the condition of the current wiring, the condition
of the lightning system, potential shading, the layout of the installation (e.g.
roof pitch and azimuth ), the condition of the roof and other installation tasks
necessary for connection to the distribution system are assessed.
- The design shall include a calculation of the monthly, annual power output
of the plant and a calculation to minimize system losses for the specific plant
implementation
- We will prepare a quotation for the installation of the photovoltaic power
plant or offer alternative solutions.
- We will draw up a contract for the work after accepting the quotation
- After you sign the contract, we will sign together a power of attorney for
concluding contracts with the distribution company, the electricity supplier and
the building authority at the location of the power plant installation.
- We will then arrange the relevant contracts with the distribution company
and the building authority.
- Once the reserved capacity has been approved by the distribution company,
construction will follow, taking care to interfere as little as possible with
your privacy.
- After the system has been brought back to life and the necessary parameters
have been measured, we will train you to operate the installed equipment.
- We will then have an inspection report drawn up.
- If you wish, we will handle all the administrative formalities associated
with the power plant in addition to the construction.
- We will inform the distribution company about the commissioning of the new
power plant.
- After commissioning, we closely monitor the undesirable conditions of the
power plant equipment remotely and, if necessary, we will visit you and resolve
any complications.
- At the end, you will receive copies of all project contracts and inspection
reports.

Basic information about photovoltaics
What is it like in practice?
The legislation of the Slovak Republic is set up in such a way that an energy
consumer can connect their photovoltaic plant with the electrical grid after
fulfilling the technical conditions. In this way, they can achieve a situation
where they do not take energy from the grid during sunshine, but from the solar
power plant. Excess energy from the sun can be stored in a chemical battery or
in a virtual battery.
The chemical battery has a capacity sized so that the daily
surplus of energy produced can be used in the evening or at night. A chemical
battery increases the cost of the investment by 20 to 40%
A Virtual Battery is essentially a contractual relationship
between an energy consumer (house) and an energy supplier (e.g. SSE, a.s.) that
allows the unconsumed energy from a solar power plant to be passed on to the
supplier free of charge. In periods without sunshine (night, cloudy, winter
period), you take this energy back from the energy supplier at a significantly
discounted price – only paying distribution charges. The virtual battery
significantly increases the availability of the power plant, but does not
increase the investment costs.
How is the power plant capacity sized?
Correctly choosing generation capacity has a major impact on the return on
investment. Therefore, any project plan must be backed up by a calculation of
the planned consumption and an informed estimate of the payback. The main factor
of payback is the current and expected energy price on the market. A low –
subsidised – energy price in Slovakia prolongs the payback, but a possible
state subsidy for the construction of the power plant shortens the payback. The
payback period of a power plant is significantly shortened by new green
electricity appliances such as chargers for electric cars, household air
conditioners and heat pumps. Currently, the payback period for households ranges
from 5 to 15 years, depending on the above factors. The technical lifetime of
a power plant is 25 to 30 years.
What can be the maximum installed capacity of a photovoltaic
power plant?
The current Slovak legislation allows the installation of power plants for
households and businesses with a maximum capacity of 10.8 kW. In the case of
companies, it is possible to use the power plant's capacity up to the maximum
reserved capacity allocated to the business entity by the distribution
company.
What is the difference between an Off-grid and On-grid solution?
Off-grid solution, the PV power plant is not connected to the public
distribution grid, in this case the power plant operates as an independent
island system. It is especially suitable for buildings with smaller consumption,
e.g. holiday properties.
On-grid solution, the PV plant is connected to the public distribution grid,
suitable for households and businesses
